Annie Harrigan
My name is Marie-Anne “Annie” Harrigan and I am a writer, editor, video producer, artist, and scholar. As of June 2025, I have been pursuing my Master of Arts in Specialized Journalism (Arts and Culture) at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism. Outside of the classroom, I am an editorial intern for Billboard, where I cover any and all things music, with a focus on daily news stories.
Prior to starting at Billboard, I worked full-time as an Associate Social Video producer for Vox Media’s food publication Eater. Formerly, I worked as an associate editor for Thrillist and as editorial coordinator for Vox Media’s lifestyle pod comprised of food, drink, travel and wellness brands Thrillist, Eater, Punch, and POPSUGAR.
In May 2022, I graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor’s in History & Literature with a double major in Studies of Women, Gender, & Sexuality. As a student and research fellow with the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, my primary academic interests were the intersections of social movements, history, identity, popular culture, and media.
At Harvard, I served as a staff writer, Theater Editor, and Music Editor for the Harvard Crimson—the nation’s oldest daily college newspaper. Today, I am the co-editor in chief of Ampersand, an arts and culture publication under USC’s Annenberg Media Network.
As a storyteller, it is my mission to connect with artists and culture makers, share their stories, and do so with as much care as possible.
